Work, and a bit more work!
Today I was working in London, got back home at 6.30 and rang DVLA and my license was issued yesterday and is in the post! Go DVLA
So what’s going on with Student Loans?

LGV C+E Lorry driver with a camera and poetry exuding from various places, some of them uncalled for!

Today I drove down to my sisters stables and drove her lorry to the M5 and back (40km – 24 miles). I need a bit more practice :)
The saying that “No news is good new” is not always correct! This morning I phoned the DVLA to find out about my Driving License and was told that nothing would be done until at least 3 to 4 weeks time…
I rang them again some 15 minutes later and asked if there was any way for my application to replace my Drivers license with a Photo License and to include my HGV qualification on it as I was loosing work, due to the delay. 10 minutes later they kindly agreed to fast track my application and would have it ready in 2 days.
Tomorrow I am off down to my sisters stables, to have a practice driving her lorry, just to remind me how to set up the Tachograph and starting procedures.
Thursday I have work with my current employer and Friday will see me driving up to Swansea to collect my license and digital tacho card.
So I rang the DVLA to see what was happening with my driving license… I was told that it wouldn’t be dealt with for another 2 weeks as they are so far behind. There goes at least two well paid jobs… Damn and blast
Yes, 30 days until Christmas Eve when we meet up with friends at the local at lunchtime for a pint and a plate of cheesy chips. Later in the evening, after wrapping the final few presents, I meet up with two more friends and we do the Midnight Mass run to Lytchett Minster Church… but that still seems so far away.
Without meaning to be boring, I so need to work, and with just 20 working days to go, I think that this could be a rather frugal Christmas. So when I say “Please come today” I mean it!
Today’s chores include:
I’ll let you know if the Postie brings me anything ^-^
It may sound strange, but today is the first day that it actually feels like November. The wind’s howling, the leaves are swirling around the garden and settling on the lawn which has the specked look of an spotty teenager.
Hopefully today the Postie will deliver my LGV License, else Christmas will be a bit dire! Then all I’ll need is a job…
I’ll let you know :)
Mr Postie didn’t arrive at all today, but I was otherwise employed unblocking drains at the local community centre which started to sink with the Play School in attendance… and didn’t it rain? I have never seen so much water in such a short time. The main roads was flooded to a depth of 2 feet (60cm)!
Woken up at 5am with sirens and heavy rain to add to the mildly irritating hangover pounding loudly somewhere in the recesses of my sleep fogged subconscious.
Got out of bed at 7.30am to be welcomed by bright sunlight streaming in through the kitchen window. From this point onwards, until 11.30, it got darker and wetter…
I suppose that I should really go and get dressed!
